Description
Fish-Scale Glass Discs · Brass Frame
Uroko Large Chandelier
Hundreds of small hand-blown glass discs — overlapping like fish scales, which is what “uroko” means in Japanese — stack outward and downward across six tiers, held in a brushed brass frame. Each disc catches light at a slightly different angle, scattering warm amber tones across the room. At ∅ 34″ × H 21″ and 137 lbs, the Uroko is built for formal dining tables, hotel lobbies, and Japandi or contemporary luxe interiors.
137 lbs — reinforced ceiling required
The fixture weighs 62 kg / 137 lbs. Installation requires anchoring into a structural ceiling joist or concrete slab — standard ceiling boxes are not rated for this load. Two adults required for the lift. We recommend confirming your ceiling’s structural capacity with a contractor before ordering.
Hand-blown glass · hardwired
Each glass disc is individually hand-blown — slight differences in disc thickness, edge finish, and amber tone are part of the technique. Connects to a standard ceiling junction box; standard rod is 11.8″ and can be lengthened on request.

Frequently Asked QuestionsWhat does “Uroko” mean?
“Uroko” (鱗) is the Japanese word for fish scales. The chandelier draws on this overlapping disc pattern, where each glass disc sits partially over the one below — the same staggered geometry found on fish scales, traditional Japanese roof tiles, and certain forms of ceramic and textile work. The pattern is meant to read as both organic and orderly.
How is it installed given the weight?
At 137 lbs, the Uroko exceeds the load rating of standard ceiling boxes. It must be anchored directly into a structural joist or concrete slab using rated lag bolts. Two adults are needed to position and lift the fixture during installation. Have a licensed electrician (or a contractor familiar with high-load fixture installation) confirm structural attachment before final wiring.
What bulbs work best?
Candle-form LED bulbs (E12 or E14, depending on the unit shipped), 4–6W each, 2700K warm white. Clear or filament-style bulbs let warm light pass through the amber glass cleanly. LED keeps heat low — important inside a fixture clustered with hand-blown glass. Bulbs not included.
Is it dimmable?
Yes — when paired with dimmable LED bulbs and a compatible Triac or trailing-edge dimmer (sold separately). Dimming brings out deeper amber tones across the disc layers and is recommended for dining and lounge installations.
Is the Uroko certified for North America?
Yes. It holds certifications compatible with North America, Saudi Arabia, Europe, and Australia and operates on AC 110–240V worldwide.
