Description
The SS5 LED Pod from Diode Dynamics have been designed for maximum functionality, with patented technology, custom-engineered TIR optics, and a selectable backlight, all in a durable package. These also feature the ability to combine the lights, creating a 9,600 Lumen (4,800 per light) light bar. The single-piece CNC aluminum link provides extreme rigidity while remaining fully adjustable for straight and curved configurations. And thanks to inset threaded mounts built-in to every SS5, there is no need to buy a special linking version of the SS5 for your setup.
Stage Series combination beam and driving beam patterns were designed with advanced optical simulation modeling to shape the output in highly functional beam patterns. The Driving pattern shines in a 30° x 20° spread, providing enough width to illuminate the road ahead at high speeds while staying focused, avoiding too much foreground light. Although the SS5 Driving pattern is too bright to be considered an SAE Auxiliary High Beam, it is perfect for an extra light boost at higher speeds.
The Stage Series 5″ LED Pod features a selectable backlight with eight different color options, perfect for an extra styling accent or more visibility when you’re not using the main beam. Selecting your backlight color is easy – alternate the power on and off. There’s no complicated programming with a controller! The SS5’s backlight fully illuminates the TIR optic, providing unique accent lighting that you won’t find on other LED pods. (DD4093 harness is required for backlight functionality
All Stage Series SS5 LED pods use high-intensity LEDs and TIR optics for unmatched focus and overall output. The Pro model uses nine high-intensity LEDs for 90 watts of total power, more than double that of the Sport model, with a 6000K cool white color temperature that matches most factory LED lighting. All SS5 LED pods feature an integrated waterproof DT-type Deutsch-style connector on the back and come with a 6-inch pigtail with bare leads for installation.
Stage Series LED lighting has been extensively tested for long-term operation from -40° to 185° F, along with vibration, moisture intrusion, and corrosion testing. These tests are completed to SAE standards, just like your factory lighting components. Racers and enthusiasts have also put them to the test on-road.
